Coptic Cairo
The Hanging Church, built into the walls of the Water Gate of the Roman fortress, is possibly the oldest Christian church in Egypt, dating to around the 4th-century. See the Church of St Sergius (Abu Serga), built atop one of the sites where the Holy Family rested on their flight from Herod, and Ben Ezra Synagogue which is Egypt's oldest, dating to the 9th-century.

Private Tour Abu Simbel Flight and Tour from Aswan

Private Tour Abu Simbel Flight and Tour from Aswan

Fast track your journey and take the quick route to see the magnificent temples of Abu Simbel on an air tour from Aswan. With a qualified Egyptologist as your guide, this private tour provides the most personalized visit to Abu Simbel, in the shortest time possible.

The flight from Aswan to the small town of Abu Simbel takes only around 30 minutes. Your Egyptologist guide will meet you at the airport and accompany you to the famous temples of Ramses II and his favorite wife Nefertari.

On the short walk to the temple entrances, your guide will explain the history of the site, including details of the UNESCO-led relocation of the entire cliff face to higher ground, and how the temples were discovered by accident in 1813. Due to the large number of visitors to Abu Simbel, guides are not permitted inside either the Great Temple of Ramses II or the smaller Temple of Hathor. However, by using photos and illustrations, your guide will explain to you the structures and their interior artworks. You will then have free time to enter the temples and explore them at your leisure.

As one of the few ancient Egyptian sites which largely escaped damage by past invaders, the interiors of Abu Simbel's temples are astounding. The scale of the buildings and their detailed decoration leaves most visitors in awe. The temples' attraction is further enhanced by their scenic location on the edge of Lake Nasser in the orange sands of the desert.

After visiting the temples there may be time for a short visit to the small visitor's center which documents the UNESCO relocation project.

Private Tour Luxor Flight and Tour from Sharm el Sheikh

Private Tour Luxor Flight and Tour from Sharm el Sheikh

Maximize your sightseeing in Luxor with a one hour flight to Luxor and spend your valuable vacation time visiting the Valley of the Kings, Luxor Temple, Hatshepsut Temple and of course the impressive Karnak Temple.

Valley of the Kings
The king's formal names and titles are inscribed in his tomb along with his images and statues. Beginning with the 18th Dynasty and ending with the 20th, the kings abandoned the Memphis area and built their tombs in Thebes. Also abandoned were the pyramid style tombs. Most of the tombs were cut into the limestone following a similar pattern: three corridors, an antechamber and a sunken sarcophagus chamber.

Hatshepsut Temple
A tree lined avenue of sphinxes led up to the temple, and ramps led from terrace to terrace. The porticoes on the lowest terrace are out of proportion and coloring with the rest of the building. They were restored in 1906 to protect the celebrated reliefs depicting the transport of obelisks to Karnak and the birth of Queen Hatshepsut. Reliefs on the south side of the middle terrace show the queen's expedition by way of the Red Sea to Punt, the land of incense.

Karnak Temple
Although badly ruined, no site in Egypt is more impressive than Karnak. It is the largest temple complex ever built by man, and represents the combined achievement of many generations of ancient builders. The Temple of Karnak is actually three main temples, smaller enclosed temples, and several outer temples located about 3 kilometers north of Luxor on 100ha (247 acres) of land.

Private Tour Luxor East Bank Karnak and Luxor Temples

Private Tour Luxor East Bank Karnak and Luxor Temples

Spend an afternoon with your qualified Egyptologist guide on a private tour exploring the East Bank of Luxor to see two of the most impressive temples in Upper Egypt - Karnak and Luxor.

Start your day with a visit to the Temples of Karnak. Walk along the Avenue of Sphinx to enter the complex as your guide explains how the massive facade was constructed. On entering the Temples of Karnak you will see each legacy left by the various pharaohs as the complex grew even larger. The deeper you go into the complex, the further back in time you will travel, with the oldest ruins dating back over 3,000 years.

Walking through the Great Court into the Great Hypostyle Hall, it's hard not to be overwhelmed by the 134 columns towering above you like an ancient forest. At the rear of the complex you will find the sacred lake where centuries ago pharaohs and their offerings to the gods were purified. After a tour of the complex, you will have additional free time to explore at leisure.

Continue to Luxor Temple which was once joined to the Temples of Karnak by a 2 kilometer long Avenue of Sphinx, a portion of which marks the entrance to the temple. Dominated by statues of the great warrior pharaoh Ramses II, Luxor Temple has survived Nile floods, foreign invasion and thousands of years exposed to the elements.

A pure Egyptian temple, the inner walls and columns are decorated with intricate hieroglyphics which your guide will help you decipher. Find out how Alexander the Great wrote himself into Luxor Temple's history, and see one of the original pair of obelisk, the second of which now stands on the Place de la Concorde in Paris.

For the budget conscious traveler who doesn't want to miss the chance to explore the magnificent city of Cairo, this coach excursion is your answer. See the Great Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza, grab a bargain at Khan el-Khalili markets and delve into history at the world famous Egyptian Museum.

Depart from your Sharm el Sheikh hotel and drive to Cairo, home to the Great Pyramids and Sphinx. Your Egyptologist guide will introduce you to each of the pyramids from the outside and you will have time to enter inside one (additional cost).

Continue across the plateau for a photo opportunity of the pyramids rising from the sands with the Cairo skyline in the background. A short drive across the plateau finds you standing at the feet of the Sphinx. Also in Giza you may visit the Solar Boat Museum (optional), home to the funerary boat of Khufu, considered one of the best Egyptian finds since Tutankhamun's tomb.

Housing 165,000 Egyptian artifacts, the Egyptian Museum in Cairo attracts millions of visitors a year. The highlight for most are the rooms containing the priceless treasures of King Tutankhamun. His six gold gilded coffins dominate the main hall, while his magnificent death mask is the must-see item of the day.

Continuing to Khan el Khalili bazaar, your guide will introduce you to the famous markets. Enjoy free time to stroll through the maze of streets and try your luck bargaining for a souvenir of your trip to Egypt.

This is a private tour allowing you to determine the amount of time spent at each site during the tour. In addition you will have the chance to visit a Papyrus Institute to see how this famous artwork is made and to purchase genuine items if you wish.
